Call for Papers is now open!

The ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin – Institute for the Economy and the Future of Work (RFBerlin) is organizing a conference on migration.

We welcome submissions of innovative papers from scholars in economics and related social sciences with an interest in migration. Topics may include forms of population movement and mobility, the impacts of migration on both receiving and sending countries, the experiences of migrants in host countries, the attitudes of residents towards immigration, and others.

Submissions can be full papers or extended abstracts, but the selection committee will give preference to complete papers. Please note that each individual may submit only one paper as a presenter, although they can be listed as a co-author on multiple submissions. Your submission should include an abstract of no more than 250 words.

Keynote speakers:

Leah Boustan (Princeton University)
Leah Boustan is a Professor of Economics at Princeton University, where she also serves as the Director of the Industrial Relations Section. Her research lies at the intersection between economic history and labor economics.  Professor Boustan is co-director of the Development of the American Economy Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. She also serves as co-editor at the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics. Professor Boustan was named an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow in 2012 and won the IZA Young Labor Economists Award in 2019.


Sandra Sequeira (London School of Economics)
Sandra Sequeira is an Associate Professor of Development Economics in the Department of International Development, a research affiliate at STICERD, CEPR, Novafrica and the International Growth Centre. Her research interests are in development economics, political economy, trade and consumer behaviour. She holds a PhD from Harvard University, an MA from the Fletcher School and a BA from Universidade Nova in Lisbon, Portugal.
