Francesco Fasani is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods of the University of Milan “Statale”, since 2021. He was previously employed as a Reader at the School of Economics and Finance, Queen Mary - University of London, (2013-2021) and as Researcher at the Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE-CSIC) in Barcelona and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (2010-2013). He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University College London in 2011. He is a Research Fellow at CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research), CReAM (Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration) and IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor). His main research interests are in Labour Economics, Applied Microeconometrics, and Economics of Migration and of Crime. His research has been published in leading economics journals such as the Journal of European Economic Association, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Development Economics, Industrial and Labor Relations Review and Journal of Economic Geography. He has recently edited a Special Issue on Migration for Labour Economics and published a volume on immigration and crime with Cambridge University Press. He is a panellist of Economic Policy. He has acted as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Commission, the International Organization for Migration and the World Bank.
