Volume 5 of the Handbook of Labor Economics Published

We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 5 of the Handbook of Labor Economics, edited by Christian Dustmann and Thomas Lemieux. Recognized as a leading resource in the field, the Handbook brings together contributions from some of the most prominent labor economists of their generation. It provides a comprehensive overview of key topics and serves as a valuable reference for researchers, educators, and policymakers worldwide.

The volume is now available online and can be accessed via Google Books.

In 2023, ahead of the publication, we hosted the Handbook of Labor Economics Volume 5 Conference. During this event, contributors presented and discussed their chapters, fostering an engaging exchange of ideas and highlighting the relevance of the research included in the Handbook. More details about the conference are available here.

To further examine the ideas and insights from the Handbook, we have introduced two complementary initiatives:

The Handbook Talks podcast series, where authors share their perspectives on their contributions and the broader implications of their work. You can listen to all episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and on YouTube.

The Masterclass series, where authors visit RFBerlin to teach the concepts and findings from their chapters. These sessions provide participants with an opportunity to engage directly with the authors and gain deeper insights into contemporary issues in labor economics.

We are confident that this volume will serve as a cornerstone for advancing the field of labor economics, inspiring future research and fostering meaningful dialogue on critical issues.
